I loved this post, Marianne! My kids are 18, 13, and 10, and I’m already beginning to mourn their baby/toddler selves, especially when I see younger moms struggling or having fun with their little, little ones! I loved this line: “I miss my children’s little selves–like friends I no longer saw–and I felt fleeting but unmistakable loss.” Beautiful writing! Sometimes I long for the time when I have whole days and evenings to myself, but I’m beginning to wonder…afraid that I will miss them too much…I already do!
Thanks for sharing!
Best, Michelle Cox
